November 2012. The instructions are pretty similar, but the new guide is specifically for using Local Mode, meaning there is no need to have internet access to get the drivers to work. We have instructions on blocking the drivers with a firewall, and new screenshots. Check it out! For the latest version of this guide, please see (and all others) in Local Mode. October 2012: MotionJoy’s servers are down again, and are giving a 500 error.
Windows 7 Forums is the largest help and. I have just acquired one and have doing some reading on how to get it working in Windows. Driver for Dualshock 3. Tech Support Solved Complete Guide: How to connect your Ps3 Dualshock 3 controller to your computer. Xbox 360 drivers should be included with Windows 7+.
There is a new local file you can use to get it to work. Simply extract into your program files/motionjoy/ds3 folder, and local mode will work once again. November 2, 2010: The latest version of the PS3 USB driver is digitally signed! That means you no longer have to disable signature enforcement, or anything like that. I have rewritten the instructions below (because it’s still not as simple as you’d think).
One of our more popular blog posts this year has been the guide on. Many thousands of people found that guide to be helpful, but unfortunately 64-bit users were left in the dark. Furthermore, the driver only offered basic functionality, and many of the PS3 controller’s features were missing.
This includes Bluetooth connectivity, SixAxis motion detection, and even the rumble feature of DualShock 3. Today, there is a solution for all these problems, thanks to the folks at MotionInJoy, based in ShenZhen China, just across the border from me. They have created a driver that works on all versions of Windows, including XP, Vista, and even Windows 7. There are versions for 32-bit x86 and 64-bit x64.
Their English is a little choppy, so figuring out the exact method of installing the drivers may be confusing for some. Here’s an illustrated guide on how to install Windows drivers for your Playstation 3 controller: Download the drivers You can download the latest version, 6.0003 from our servers here:,. Plug in your PS3 Controller via USB If you haven’t done this before, you will see that some basic Windows drivers are installed.
This might lead you to believe that the controller will work right away, but unfortunately it won’t. You still need to complete this step before proceeding however. Install the MotioninJoy Driver Just run the.exe contained within the zip file, and the driver will be installed to your Program Files directory by default. From there, it will ask if you would like to create shortcuts, then offer to run the DS3 Tool. During the installation, you will receive this dialog box: Obviously, you will want to “trust” it to use the driver. Run the DS3 Tool Unfortunately, the USB driver is no longer included in the package. This means that you will be unable to load the full driver without an internet connection.
There is the ability to load the DS3 Tool locally, which we’ll get to later. To load the USB driver, you will need to be connected to the internet, and then run the DS3 Tool. You will be presented with the “Driver Manager” page: (you can ignore step 3 in the software, apparently they have yet to update that part of it). From there, simply click “Load”. The installation will take place, resulting in some new hardware added to the device manager: At this point, the center light on your controller should not be blinking. This is a good indication that it is working. Tour controller will now be working, albeit in a limited manner (only the digital buttons and crosspad will work, with no rumble or analog controls). Enable DualShock and Analog Controls To run your controller to its full potential, you need to load an advanced script from within the driver software.
Here is the most important part: You need to exit out of the program after the first time, and start it again. If you do not do this, it will not detect your controller properly. It took me a while to figure this bug out;) Once you restart the DS3 Tool program, you will be brought to a page that looks like this: Your controller should be listed under “Connected game controller(s):” If it isn’t, go back to the Driver Manager, and try loading the driver again. From here, simply select the Analog Gamepad 2 mode, and click “Enable”.
You will immediately have full analog functionality, which can be verified in the Game Controller control panel: MotionInJoy Local Mode (Offline Mode) As mentioned above, there is supposed to be a local mode, for those who can’t constantly be connected to the internet. This is done by extracting into your /MotioninJoy/DS3/ directory. After that, you can start up the DS3 Tool, and select “Local” in the top toolbar. Unfortunately, this will only allow for basic digital controls – no analog or dualshock at all. I guess this is to keep people coming back to the tool to display ads while they enable more functionality. October 2012: MotionJoy’s servers are down again, and are giving a 500 error. There is a new local file you can use to get it to work.
Simply extract into your program files/motionjoy/ds3 folder, and local mode will work once again. Enable XBOX 360 Mode For some reason, most developers have abandoned support for standard controllers, in favor of proprietary XBOX 360 drivers.
If your controller works in the control panel but is not discovered by the games you play, this is almost certainly because you didn’t enable XBOX 360 mode. To get your PS3 controller to work in most modern games, you will need to enable this. As far as I know, there are no disadvantages in doing so. Bluetooth Bluetooth support is still in its infancy – they need to overwrite your Bluetooth drivers, and therefore you will only be able to connect the PS3 controller to it. Also, not very many Bluetooth dongles are supported – I wanted to test it out with the integrated controller on the Intel DP55KG motherboard, but it did not work.
If you do have a compatible device, you still need to follow the directions above anyway. After that, you will go to the Bluetooth pairing page, and follow the directions there. It should be pretty straight forward, as long as you are aware of the caveats going in. That’s about it! You can even enable XBOX 360 controller mode, for the games that natively support that controller (some games, such as Braid, will only support the XBOX 360 gamepad). For those who are tied of having to select disable driver signature enforcement every time they want to use unsigned drivers on vista, theres one neat way to automate away this annoyance.
Google citadel industries readydriver plus v1.1 Its a nice modification to the boot-loader which will choose disable signature enforcement for you, works with Vista SP2 no trouble, just keep in mind if you have dual boot setting it up may get a bit tricky. I found it for use wither other unsigned drivers I wanted to often use with vista. It might be handy for some who want to use it with this PS3 controller guide. Hi, thanks for posting this guide up, I got my PS3 controller to work perfectly.
I just have one question. If I don’t disable the driver signature enforcement when I wish not to plug in the controller to my computer, will my computer still run fine or will it crash because I didn’t disable the driver signature enforcement? In other words, will I have to disable the driver signature enforcement every time I boot my system, regardless of whether I plan on using the controller during that time or not? Thanks for your time. The fact that unsigned dirvers by default will always be a security risk, you can but wonder why a driver with this kind of user demand is not open source. That at least would set a few minds at rest with regards to the security breach of not enforcing signed drivers.
Apparently a lot of people think it’s a small matter to open a “hole” in the security like this. Has anyone thought of security checking the driver? Device drivers usually run in kernel mode on windows pc’s so it whould be no small matter if the deliverable actually contained malware. I for one deem this risk unnesecary and wouldn’t dream of installing it.
It took me a while to make it work on windows 7 64B. This my log (Kinda) I hope it helps someone: Run it first after the F8 boot, and I got the screen asking for the digital signature. Run it again, after boot again, and installation worked, but controller wouldnt do a damn thing. Boot again with the F8 thing, still didnt working, then I pressed the PS button for a while, maybe a minute, went to control panel, tried it again, and now it was responsive. Now playing street fighter 4, and my left thumb hurts, so I decided to come back here, and say thanks. It was a pain in the little hole, but it worked, so I think its worth it to spend some time with this Thanks again.
Hey, I have worked it out (im on vista). For those that are having the same trouble, follow the guide above. Make sure when ur control is connected to the pc that all the lights are flashing (this happens on mine), then go into the control panel and hardware and game controllers and verify that the controller is working and the buttons etc are working. Then open the DS3 Tool with the control still connected and working and on the left of DS3 side click pair, you should get a message saying that mac address pairing was successful. Then disconnect the controller from the usb and press the PS button and it should pair and the 1 light should light up (on mine when i disconnected the controller it automatically went into connecting). After this again go into the game controllers in control panel and verify that everything is working for the function set u selected in DS3 Tool.
HOPE THIS HELPS PEOPLE AND GET TO ENJOY THEIR WIRELESS CONTROLLER AS I DO. For those who are like me and decided to hold off on Vista, you can still use the USB driver (as Vista and Windows 7 are both based off the same 2003 kernels). Install the software like normal. The controller won’t work yet, but this is the only way to extract the drivers. Locate the drivers folder C:Program FilesMotioninJoyds3drivers (changing the drive letter as needed) and download and extract the modified inf file overwriting your old one in the drivers folder. You can save your old file but it won’t work anyway. Get to your device manager (Right click My Computer–Properties–Hardware–Device Manager) and expand the Human Interface Devices tree.
If you’re like me you’ll have to do some hunting now. Look at the properties of each device labeled “USB Human Interface Device” at the details tab. You’re looking for the device that has USBVID045C&PID0268 in the value box under the drop down list. You can see the value without sorting through each option in the drop down. You might be temped to use the HID-compliant game controller, but Windows will kindly let you know that you’re not following directions. Once you locate this hardware, go back to your General tab and click “Update Driver.” Choose to locate the driver manually and choose “Have Disk.” Navigate to your MotioninJoy driver directory where we extracted the inf file.
Choose the file named MijUfilt.inf. You will now be given two options to choose from; one with a strange name and the other that is named properly. They both point to the same file so your choice doesn’t matter.
You’ll get a warning about unsigned drivers that you can ignore, and your device will now install. Verify that the DS3 Tool can see your controller (it’ll list the controller in the option menu.) If your controller is found, reboot your machine so the driver will take affect. IT WILL NOT WORK UNTIL YOU REBOOT! Once your machine is back up and running, test the controller in the Gamepad control panel. You may have to press the giant “P” button in the center of the controller before the buttons will work. (I did) All functions work as expected with the exception of the “Dial” control; which I’m not sure what that does anyway. I didn’t test out the vibration function so I can’t offer any guarantee that it’ll work.
Enjoy your controller on your Windows XP 64 bit machine and avoid the “F8” “Run as Administrator” crap. I got up to: Plug in your Playstation 3 controller. If you haven’t done this before, you will see that some basic Windows drivers are installed. This might lead you to believe that the controller will work right away, but unfortunately it won’t.
Then the next step baffled me completely: From the Start button, run the “Install driver” for the appropriate connection method you’ll be using. Make sure to right click and “Run as administrator” or the driver will not install properly.
Restart Windows again. What am I supposed to do? I go onto the start menu and then I have no idea. I went onto the motionjoything to have a look.
I’m totally lost. I don’t know about you but I’ve to restart windows every time to disable driver signature enforcement, that turns me off and I haven’t even started the game. The developers need to work around windows signature system, to make it more desirable to use, otherwise is very stable and has almost all features of the PS3 are mapped into the vista64 driver. I would however recommend to the guys who made it to get rid of the.net gamepad setup application: “DS3 Tool”, and create something a little more pleasant to use like a systray easy access icon or even better a control panel icon. Otherwise this is a work in progress, a very usable driver for vistax64 which has his pros and cons when it comes to alpha development (ver 0.200) software, keep an eye on their blog. Hey i have to say this i my 5th attempt to get my PS3 controller to work on my PC. Im using windows vista 32 ultimate.
Ive tryed all the other downloads the lib whatever and then the newer versions of that as well. Ive followed every step of ever forum and of ever body else little in puts at the bottom. I have the first reless of teh PS3 and controls if that has anything to do with. I am at a loss on what else to do. Before i got this new download the one listed on this site the controller would should under the game control in the control planel as a PS3 controller. Now it shows up as motioninjoy usb but i can not test it or do anything with it.
The program motioninjoy dose not see that i even have a controller connected. What am i missing or am i that lucky guy that has a bum version of vista and or PS3 controllers. All my windows is up to date.
I cant stress enough how closely i followed these instructions. I also made sure that i uninstalled all other things that involed the PS3 controller each time i tryed a new program. I keep getting this, no matter how many times I reinstall this.
Anyone find a fix for this at all, yet? Sorry for the double post, but I fixed my problem and figured I should share it. The reason it wasn’t working was because I tried using a USB Controller Hub with my PS3 controller since it has USB slots along with the PS2/GC/XBOX slots. Well, somehow, it installed some driver and only assigned it to the hub, rather than it’s own. I uninstalled the drivers for my hub and everything to do with controllers, and reinstalled both seperately and it finally worked. So, hopefully that fixes some of you guys.
Haha, you guys saying “use xpadder its so much better” are total n00bs who dont even read an article before commenting, this tool was designed for vista 64 and win 7 64 because the people who use these os cant get there ps3 pads to connect through the old libusb0.dll drivers which means XPADDER WONT RECOGNIZE THE PAD EITHER other wise you could use any program like xpadder or pinnicle profiler. Now my problem is when i run the install drivers under administrator i get the output txt file which give this output: INFO:MotioninJoy Driver install log INFO: Driver install Enter ERROR: argc. Hi guys, first of all thanks carl for this how to, and thanks to the guys at motioninjoy for these drivers they worked fine. I have spent over an hour now, trying other guides and then uninstalling everything because they didnt work. This one doesn’t work either.
This guide is poorly written at best. Basically run EVERY step as administrator? Cause that was not clear to me.
But even doing that it still doesnt work. I tried Shadow’s instructions and they are somewhat more clear but when install motionjoy drivers i get this “LOG Event: 1, No matching devices found in INF “C: Program Files MotioninJoy ds3 drivers MijXinput.inf” on the Machine. If you got it to work, do us all a favor. Uninstall everything, redo it and write down each step clearly!! (And not in broken English either like “you’re controller”). As frustrated as I am about not getting it to work, I’m not blaming it on the guy. Other people have gotten it to work just fine, so obviously we’re the ones messing up. I just want to know how to make it so I don’t have to repair my drivers to get them working everytime I restart my computer. I don’t care about the controller that much anymore since I found my 360 controller (much easier to set up:P ), but would very much like to undo everything. Carl, you should suggest creating a System Restore Point near the beginning of this. I was too focused on trying to got through the guide step-by-step and the idea slipped my mind.
:/ i have read allmost all comments, but my problem is that i can’t instal the USB. When i press start and go uder the folder “motioninjoy” the options are “DS3 tool” “homepage” “install motionjoy driver” and “uninstall” when i have runned the “install motion joy driver” as admin the notepad comes up and says “INFO:MotioninJoy Driver install log INFO: Driver install Enter INFO: argc0=”C: Program Files MotioninJoy ds3 MijCmd.exe” INFO: argc1=”/i” INFO: argc2=”. I tried to use the permanent method and although everything seemed to check out the PC still wouldn’t recognize the connected controller until I disabled the checks via reboot. If it’s any more conveniencing, hibernating or setting to sleep a PC rather than shutting down entirely helps though that’s another fiver on the electricity bill a day so watch out for that;p. Quick question (I hope). I have everything downloaded and ready to go, but the more I read the more I’m wondering about something that should be, in my opinion, very glaringly obvious: Do you need any type of hardware to enable the bluetooth connection? I can’t seem to find any posts that address this. People keep talking about the “dongle”, which I know to be that little usb receiver, but there aren’t as many posts as I would expect if everyone who did this had to buy a bluetooth receiver for this to work.
Can someone kindly clarify this point for me before I go ahead and waste my time and run into unnecessary frustration? Thanks in advance!! It’s pretty much hit or miss with the hardware IDs that are supported in the dongles. I have a Silicon Integrated Systems chip that doesn’t work, nor do 99% of other people’s apparently but there has been at least one working setup on a CSR (Cambridge Silicon Radio) chip (or so claimed).
Check out this thread, Apparently the driver is more of a hack that over rides some of the default Bluetooth driver settings (which is why it kills connectivity to other devices). I suspect this is why it works on and off with some chips. Well I tried this and failed, didn’t check the comments so tried to enable the security drivers with the command: bcdedit.exe -set loadoptions EENABLEINTEGRITYCHECKS.
Double E cause that seemed like a good idea at the time. Installed and reinstalled MotionJoy 3 times because I wasn’t sure which version I needed. Finally gave up, after failing to get anything to work, and uninstalled it. The computer was running a bit slow so I tried going online, after a while nothing would respond so I swiched it off for the night. Now it won’t start up and autorepair doesn’t work, that’s what you get I guess.
I just wasn’t made to fiddle with computers. So here is what happened to me. I got the program working just fine except for some buttons in game. Some buttons just would not work for the game. In Starwars: tfu2 i could not dash and the command configuration was all screwy. So i changed the setup to analog gamepad 3. Aafter that i was able to configure my controls and got all my buttons to work except for the right analog joystick still had some problems.
It appeared to be stuck going in one direction, odd Still cant quite figure out how to get it to work properly. I am going to try adjusting the slider. Thank you very much for the tutorial. I was waiting to try using my ps3 controller with some games for a while now.
However, though I have followed the tutorial, I am still stuck at the part where I press load and everything should be installed. Specifically, though the driver is installed successfully and my laptop does recognize the controller, nothing I press receive a response at all. I tried it with both my controllers, one of which was dualshock while the other sixasis. Both of which, did not work. If anyone have any advice on fixing this problem, I would greatly appreciate it.
This worked with the PS3 controller just fine using Windows 7 64bit, however it disabled my Wireless Logitech Wave Keyboard. Ironically, I have a Logitech Wireless Apple (MAC) keyboard that I plugged in and it worked just fine. I attempted severally ways to install the PS3 in sequence and installed the latest Logitech SetPoint 620x64 software driver program but the DS3 just takes control of the Logitech Wave Keyboard and makes it useless (dead). I had to use Windows System Restore to get the keyboard working again. So I have two options, get a different keyboard that works with DS3 or get a XBOX360 Controller.
I will get the XBOX360 controller as I really like my Logitech Wave Keyboard. Ok so i just installed this program and sure enough my mouse wouldnt work anymore so i uninstalled the program and all the drivers for it restarted computer and yaya my mouse is back.
So now how do u get the ps3 controler and other usb devices working togather O.O?!!!!! Step 1 Follow all the above steps in this gude except you will need a ps2 (Green Or Purple Ended) mouse or keyboard follow the steps till you get to the Load Drivers step in the device manager selection when there UNPLUG ALL USB DEVICES CEPT THE CONTROLER if not it has a chance to assgin it a new driver and u cant use it anymore or will have to uninstall the driver. Once the process is finished doing it for the controler restart your computer once windows has loaded plug in all your usb devices again and congrats! Hope this helps. OK, I followed the instructions very closely; I did everything I was told in the guide. However, I still cannot get my PS3 controller to work on my computer. I’m using a 64-bit version of Vista.
I plugged my controller into the USB port via the USB cable shipped with my console and Windows automatically downloaded the drivers. Then I ran the DS3 tool and it told that it couldn’t find the controller I had just plugged in. So, I downloaded the drivers via the DS3 tool, but that also did nothing, as going into the Game Controllers manager tells me that I have a Playstation 3 Controller plugged in and not a Motion In Joy Virtual Controller. What am I doing wrong here? Thanks in advance for any help generously offered. Sounds promising, sadly I need by bluetooth for other things and I’m only interested in this when I can use it with bluetooth without it altering the drivers.
Also, if it really is the case that they need to boost ad revenue to make us redo the settings for analog, I wish we could have an option to donate to have it always on. Yes, I could use a 360 pad, and I do, but I’d much prefer a fully working, one time set up, bluetooth enabled pad for my pc. Heres hoping it can happen one day, I’d pay for it that’s for sure. A bit late on this but could never get it to work wirelessly via bluetooth, then I realized it removed my defualt bluetooth drivers and disabled my wireless mouse, keyboard, and head phones So I’m opting out on this, although its nothing major, its made me a bit uncortable about using my DS3 for a PC game pad. Although Bluetooth Connectivity with the DS3 and PC is awesome, I’ll probably try a tethered USB method that doesn’t interfere with my default windows software, as I’ve read up on a few methods that due so.READ IF YOURE HAVING DRIVER INSTALL ISSUES IN WIN7 64BIT. I am running Windows 7 64-Big and couldnt get the driver to install from within this program (both the signed versions 0.60001 and 0.6.0003 tested) no matter what I did.
It would just give me an error in the driver install log. Tried every tip given in all the forums, etc. Local mode does the same thing.
Then I tried updating the corresponding “USB Input Device” to my controller in device manager manually, and it works! Basically I plugged my controller into a new usb port on my computer, and opened up device manager, going down to “Human Interface Devices”.
Go down to the entries that say “USB Input Device” and right-click the first one on the list. Select “Properties” and then click the tab that says “Details” in the window that pops up. In the dropdown here scroll down the list and select “Install Date”. Take note of the time listed. Look through each “USB Input Device” entry and find the one with the closest date/time to when you plugged in your controller and installed it in a USB port. If it was a port you havent plugged it into before it will show the most recent date/time.
This is your PS3 controller. (Note: you can also try and watch the device manager to see which “USB Input Device” pops up when you plug in your controller to find the correct entry if the other method doesnt work for some reason) When you find the right one, right-click it and select “Update Driver Software” then choose “Browse My Computer”. Next click “Let me pick from a list.”, and then click the “Have Disk” button. You will then be prompted for a location, point it to “C: Program Files MotioninJoy ds3 drivers MijXinput.inf” (if you installed in the default directory) and then Voila! You will see the motioninjoy driver listed and then click “OK” to install.
Now open up MotionInJoy and you will see your controller is automatically detected in the profiles tab when it pops up, and that the driver is listed as “Installed” for your device in the driver manager. All analogs are working and everything.
Hope this helps someone else as I was getting frustrated as hell trying to figure out WTF the problem was, but whatever the cause this is the only solution I know of after searching for hours for help & trying different things. I tried this but I get this me this error message: “The folder you specified doesn’t contain a compatible software driver for your device. If the folder contains a driver, make sure it is designed to work with Windows for x64 based systems.” I’m using Windows 7 x64 and a wired Play Station controller (but not ps3).
The forum has not provided an answer to this issue despite multiple users posting with the same problem. There seem to be a lot of bugs in general based on the number of negative posts. I’ve already invested countless hours on this project and am giving up. I’ll probably wind up just buying a new controller.:(. See, I did everything that was instructed.
The controller is showing the ‘1’ coz that’s what I’m used to on the PS3 and I placed it that way. But the problem is, my controller is just not ‘controlling’ the mouse or cursor. I move the analog sticks and the directional buttons but my cursor is in the same place. I’ll admit that the controller is a bit old and parts have fallen out of it but it still worked on the PS3 and when I test it, the controls work fine.
They just don’t work on my laptop. By the way, Toshiba Satellite C660/C660D Windows 7 Home Premium x86. I followed these steps as stated, but I still had problems (only the keypad worked for directional control and buttons weren’t matching game profiles). If you also have trouble getting full functionality, I suggest trying the Xbox 360 Controller Emulator. Once I did, I was able to play Portal 2 and Limbo on my PS3 Dualshock controller without issue (both are Steam versions, FYI). After the next restart of my laptop, I had to enable the PS2 controls as shown and then switch back to the Xbox emulator again, and all was well. This is a required step (for me) every time I reboot.
This driver seems quirky at best, but once you get it working, it does work. Hi guys, I have been trying to install the controller onto my laptop for past couple of days now. I have installed everything correctly and have been able to calibrate the controller too. However when I start the game (saints row 2), I cannot do much as for some reason cursor just moves up as if the up button is constantly pressed down.
Also when I tried it on SSF4, it wouldn’t let me do anything when I pressed the button. So basically I cannot press start after the starting video. I am using a toshiba p750-114 and the operating system is windows 7 x64. Please can someone help. It looks like motioninjoy is having some big problems their site and server are no longer up, No idea if they are shut down or have server issues that will be up and running again but either way there is no way to be able to use it as a 360 controller etc as it requires their server to be up ( stupid idea to have it online only for the advanced uses) now i have a bunch of games that i currently can’t play until it comes back up if it does at all or the alternative is to buy a 360 controller for the PC which i don’t want to do as i prefer the PS3 one.
I installed the DS3 software on my Win7 x64 system, but when l plug in my PS2 controller into the USB adapter and plug the adapter into my PC, it is not recognized and l do not have a “LOAD” button, rather a “LOAD DRIVER” button that when clicked tells me l need to pick a driver from the list. But there is no list. I have done Mordecai Walfish’s suggestion of going into Device Manager in Windows, but l get the same message that Drns gets of “The folder you specified doesn’t contain a compatible software driver for your device. If the folder contains a driver, make sure it is designed to work with Windows for x64 based systems.” Not sure what to do at this point.
It seems that plugging a PS2 controller into my PC is STILL not possible. Any help would be appreciated. Hi I have manged to do everything that was told to be done by this article, and I did get the controller to be functional throw the program DS3 Tool. But I’m having a problem using it on games such was Cod – MW3. I did try using Xpadder and other methods that was successful, although it only worked when I was on my desktop or other windows to move around the pointer.
It stops working ones I open a game installed on my PC and if a administrator window pops up when it asked me to allow a program to run/install. I have tried searching for any answer in the net with no luck. I did try running DS3 Tool as an administrator, and tried give the program privileges throw control panel, but nothing worked. Ones I open the game, its as if the controller does not exist anymore. Please can someone help me with this? I work with computers all day – so needless to say, I know my way around them.
I’ve went step by step for first guide, and each guide listed in the comments as well. Does not work, either they referrence something that isn’t there (no i’m not talking about GPEdit, I know thats not on Win7 Home) and I’m still getting “ERROR: argc Motioninjoy, then right click “Install MotioninJoy driver””. I know there’s now a local run mode, but why would you have to be connected to the internet to use a driver.(that wasn’t a virus). So you guys download a driver from there, strip it of all protections. AND need an internet connection, or a special file that couldn’t possibly be a log that sends when connected, who downloads some file that just screams keylogger. (my anti virus doesn’t pick it up), if its a new virus, and you stripped the protections, it probably won’t. Nobody’s curious?
I did have an issue after loading the drivers where the main console screen did not recognize I had a controller connected, even after I restarted the software a dozen times or so. I did some scrolling through here and someone noted that they had to pull up Task Manager to close out an extra piece of the DS3 Tool that was running in the background even when the software wasn’t. Once I canceled out the task in Task Manager, the controller worked fine on the next reload. These instructions work perfectly. I have managed to get my controller recognised in motionjoy run all the tests etc all buttons etc seem to working. Connected pc via remote play all ok upto this point. However the controler will not interact with the remote play sreen on my pc.
I can see the playstation screen and the controller as mentioned will vibrate and responds to buttons when being checked in the motionjoy. I have also down loaded xpadder to config controller that all works fine too. Was told to download a patch as well for ps3 sixaxis which has to be copied into the systen 32 folder.
Still nothing happens. Have folled your instructions all corresponds with what you have said. So it should work? Here’s my big issue, and I’d appreciate the assistance. My PS3 sixasxis controller works fine, analog sticks included.
I only use the Xbox controller emulator. I’ve got a real annoying issue, though. I’m playing Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed. At random, my character will switch directions when drifting, and when airborne, will sporadically do front flips.
This doesn’t happen when using the keyboard. Nuance pdf viewer plus 7.1 - free software and shareware. I tried relocating the controls but that still doesn’t solve the problem. Nothing but the Xbox controller simulator works for Sonic All Stars, so I can’t try something else.
