Motorola Sbv5121e Firmware Update

07.10.2019
Update

Does anyone here have a Motorola SBV5121 digital phone unit or happen to know the username and password required to access the internal modem status page (192.168.100.1)? I just had this unit installed which replaced a SBV4200 that went screwy on me. The tech who replaced it told me that they pushed out a firmware upgrade to the SBV4200's and about half of them didn't take the upgrade correctly and went screwy and he has been replacing them right and left since that happened. This is for the Raleigh/Durham/Cary NC area, though I'm sure it is probably affecting other divisions around the country that sent out the same firmware update. So if you have a SBV4200 and are experiencing random freeze ups that cause the data and phone service to go down together (which rebooting the modem always fixes) then call TW to have them replace your unit.

Motorola SBV5121 Issues I have a Motorola SBV5121. This is a firmware problem and the only way to resolve it is to do a firmware update on that device and.

It's a known issue and I recall seeing some threads in this forum in recent history also mentioning this problem. The SBV5121 has been rock solid, and if anyone knows the username and password for the status page I'd really appreciate it. (I forgot to ask the tech for it before he left and there is no mention of it in the packaging the modem came in). Thank you in advance.

Firmware Update Lg Phone Not Working

I had tried the usual suspects (admin, default, password) but had not thought of using motorola. Wow, it's so much more detailed than the 4200 was, though the layout is looks much the same. Even has extra info about the state of the digital phone, battery status (though this unit doesn't have one) and even the raw speed (in mbps) of the DOCSIS network it's connected to. It even says the USB interface is 12 Mbps.

So this modem only has a USB 1.1 port. That wasn't very forward thinking! At least the lan port which I use is operating at 100Mbps. Thanks for making my day.

Smok Alien Firmware Update

Yes, all 6141's. Here's the deal, If your antivirus allowed a malware downtoad, all it can do is reset the modem and it takes 5 seconds and is back online. The long reset to defaults requires power sequencing and can't be malware prompted anywayy.

Motorola System Update

The guy that wrote this who's a supposed security 'expert' has NO CLUE what he's talking about, and deleting the feature actually makes matters worst if you need to do a remote reboot. ALL modems can be accessed via malware as the cable co's use the3 same logins and passwords.

You can't corrupt 6141's pr any modem only devices. Advanced gateways on the other hand are junk, and have plenty of doors to get into. I'm having this same problem as of 6/27. TWC technical support acknowleges the ARIS firmware upgrade plan to fix this based on this community forum, but can find no reference within TWC level 3 tech support to this issue. No one from TWC can confirm anything about this firmware update being pushed out. Either there is a firmare update or this is not one - which is it? And how many modems from the approved list do I have to keep bringing back to best buy until I find one that works?

At the moment, TWC is giving me one of theirs on loan - and this is the only one that works (older Aris model). I am about to swap this Aris out for another brand (Netgear CM400) at Best Buy - 3rd modem in an attempt to avoid leasing from TWC.
